Just watched a demo from PAX and I was already excited for the game but I am even more so now. Of course the game reminds me of Crackdown, which I thought was great and was a lot of fun. This game delivers that same feeling. Just in watching I dig having powers that I can project to enemies. I also love the ability to jump and crawl up anything. As we have seen in many videos, the characters climbs midway on a light pole, hangs off it and lights up the street. Not only does the gameplay look good but the graphics look very good as well. Check out the video from GameTrailers here: Read the rest of this entry »

After many more hours of play, I have finally completed Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. I loved the game though I do feel there could have been some more platforming, puzzles, and increased difficulty. From all accounts, it seems the Quest for Booty will give me just that. Unfortunately, I have yet to pick up the title as I have been busy with school work and work. I hope to pick it up soon!
Another title that I have been playing is Shadow of the Colossus. When heading back to this game I only had 1 colossus killed. After some sporadic play, I am up to my 8th colossus. This is a great game thus far and I am really enjoying it. I can say it is living up to the hype. Besides Ratchet and Colossus, I have been playing the Bionic demo, Last Guy demo (love the music, and some Pixel Junk Eden. In hopes of making my backlog smaller all these PSN games and upcoming fall releases will make it grow even larger.

I read a news article this morning concerning the recent events in California. Due to California currently operating without a budget, Gov. Schwarzenegger has decided to temporarily move 200,000 or so state workers to minimum pay which sits at $6.55/hr. Crazy, I know but here is the funny part. California’s payroll system was written in COBOL. Ancient indeed. I remember starting out with COBOL in one of my high school programming classes. To continue, their system is written in COBOL, the language isn’t even taught nowadays, programmers are extremely hard to find, and the Terminator terminated 10,000+ part-time workers which included “retired” COBOL programmers. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.
